Armor of a Samurai Warlord

This armor belonged to Sakakibara Yasumasa, a trusted retainer of Tokugawa Ieyasu and one of the "Four Heavenly Kings" of the Tokugawa. Notably, the helmet features an impressive upright sanko-ken (three-pronged sword), a symbolic object held by the Buddhist deity Fudō Myōō. A painting still exists today depicting Yasumasa wearing this armor, along with battle standards, vividly evoking the atmosphere of that era.
