Thunder God of Ancient India

Zōchō-ten is one of the Four Heavenly Kings and the guardian deity of the south. He protects the south side of Mount Sumeru, which is considered to be at the center of the universe in Buddhist cosmology. Placed on the left of the principal buddha worshipped in Buddhist temples, Zōchō-ten typically looks like a Tang dynasty Chinese warlord with red skin and weapons in its hands.
